International Public Relations Research Conference in March 2004 in Miami,
for Papers and Panels
Annual International Public Relations Research Conference
Miami, Florida USA
March 11 – 14, 2004
Challenges & Opportunities
Public relations professionals and public relations faculty and graduate students are invited to submit competitive abstracts for paper presentation at the 7th International Public Relations Research Conference to be held March 2004 in Miami, Florida. Public relations educators are especially encouraged to solicit input from faculty on their campuses in the behavioral and business sciences and from other communication disciplines. Researchers are not limited in the number of papers that can be submitted. The top three papers will be eligible for $500 awards.
Public relations educators should recognize that the purpose of monetary awards is to develop interdisciplinary research participation in contributing to the public relations body of knowledge and that this must remain a priority in paper ranking and top paper award decisions. Priority for awards may also be given to papers developed through research collaboration between educators and practitioners.
This conference is distinctly different from other conferences in that initial paper acceptance is based on a 1-page abstract submitted for consideration. All abstracts are blind-reviewed. Research accepted for presentation may be submitted for award consideration with a finished paper that will be blind reviewed. Abstracts may be submitted via postal mail, fax, or e-mail to the conference director with author(s), affiliation(s), title, and contact information included as a separate page from the abstract. All abstracts and papers must be submitted by the established deadlines (see below). All accepted abstracts will be published in a conference proceedings available after the conference.
for Teaching and Professional Development Panels may also be
submitted to the conference director and will be considered if space
remains after the paper abstracts are accepted. Proposals should
provide a discussion of the panel content; full names, titles and
affiliations of panel members; names of chair or co-chair. Email
addresses should be provided for acceptance notification.
All abstracts and panel proposals should be sent to Dr. Don W. Stacks, Conference Director, School of Communication, University of Miami, 5100 Brunson Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33124-2105. E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. Fax: (305) 284-5216.
